Sushi was good, but with a bit too much sauce. Maybe not enough rice vinegar in the sushi rice?We also had veggie ramen that was beautiful and crazy tasty.Atmosphere and peeps are fantastic.

If you are a fan of sushi, look no further. The chef prepares variations to suit every taste. Not a fan of sushi? No problem. A varied menu of mouthwatering dishes awaits you.Though the building looks a bit incongruous at first, with a two-story full-color sushi chef image on what is obviously an Old World European style building,ΓΒ it makes sense when you know that the original business was a Bavarian restaurant. Yes, the stained glass windows each still hold the coat-of-arms of a Bavarian city. Nevertheless, Yuzen is 100%ΓΒ authenticΓΒ Japanese sushi and cuisine! ΓΒ With an exceptional staff, reasonable prices, a good selection of Japanese beers and saki you will not be disappointed. This is our "go to" restaurant for Japanese food on the coast.

This is our favorite resteraunt from Yachats to Newport for Japanese. Their miso dressing is so good we buy some extra to take home everytime. Very quaint and hometown like inside. The Don bowls and sushi are great we haven't been let down yet.

Best tempura ever!

Best sushi I've had in a long time, perhaps the best I've had period. They are slow to prepare the food for sure, but they are taking their time to do it right. Will definitely be adding as a required stop whenever in the area.

Stopped here by accident, literally. An accident up the road had shut the highway down on our way to lunch. Luckily we werenΓ’β¬β’t far from this place! The food was excellent and the staff was more than patient and kind when we came in about 10 mins before closing after lunch. (No worries, they open again for dinner, the chefs go home to spend time with family.) I strongly recommend coming here! Their teriyaki was great and the sushi tasted fresh and delicious! Doncha love stumbling upon a new favorite????

Food was good not exceptional. Really friendly staff however slow or rather understaffed. Great location, decor could use some updates.

Food was good. I think they were short staffed. We were there for 2 hours. My husband got up a couple of times to tell our waitress our food was ready at the window and also got a pitcher of water for us.

The food and presentation are 5 stars and service was somewhat less, so 4.

We have been several times and the last time for sha bu sha bu. The food was wonderful and owner did a great job of explaining the process. We love the dΓΒ©cor because there is so much history and interest. It is a treat and someplace we look forward to visiting on our beach trips. They also have the best T-shirts.

I wasn't expecting anything this good in Seal Rock. Didn't try the sushi other than some avocado and California rolls for the kids. The people working there were very nice and in accommodating a group of 11 people, mostly kids.

Great fresh sushi!

Authentic. Amazing. From the flavor of the miso soup, to the well constructed sushi rolls, and green tea, this is worth a stop. And we drove from Montana.

Fresh, authentic Japanese food. Great selection of fish; ask the chef what's fresh.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. While the sushi is not exceptional, what makes the place stand out is a actual Japanese sushi chef. So rare to find anymore. Loved chatting in Japanese at the sushi bar.

One of your favorite restaurants on the Oregon Coast. We have been coming here for 25 years when in the Newport area.Service: Very good, prompt and our server was very knowledgeable.Food: Very good with just a few not so good spots like warm not hot Mizo soup.Atmosphere: Cosy, warm, semi-private like in a up-scale Japanese restaurant in Tokyo.

Our favorite of the three sushi restaurants we ate at on the Oregon coast. This was due to the quality of the food, the ambiance, service and little touches that reminded us of Japan. The nigiri, miso soup and hamachi kama aka grilled tuna cheekbone were delicious. The sushi was delicious as well, but just a little messy as the rolls were loose. We took this in stride since the restaurant felt very legit and the types of rolls being offered are Americanized vs. traditional Japanese. We also ordered tea and loved our tea pot, it was very similar to one our roommates in Japan had, so it made us think of good memories from living there years ago. We look forward to eating here again!

A bit pricey or I would give five stars
